He first started with his company the Laugh-O-Gram Studio in Kansas City which later went bankrupt, but he was never willing to give up without giving it a fighting chance and later created Alice Comdies. This studio led to his success of animation. Disney created Mickey Mouse in 1928, and was first scene in the silent film "Plane Crazy." In that same year Mickey stared as Steamboat Willie. Mickey became insantly popular, and by 1935 Mickey cartoons had been viewed by over 500 million people. Disney and his crew used very different animation techniques than those of the 30s. His use of protraying speed, three-demintional objects, and syncornized sound and light gave him the edge against other animators. Also his dynamic characters created thrilling cartoons that captured audiences attention.
